17 – ʿAlī ibn al-Jaʿd reported to us; he said: Zuhayr ibn Muʿāwiyah told us; he said: Sulaymān al-Aʿmash narrated from Maymūn ibn Mihrān, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Sidān, from Hudhayfah, who said: “May Allah curse anyone who is not of us with a curse weightier than Mount Uhud. You must certainly enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong, or else you will end up fighting one another; then your worst people will overpower your best and kill them, until no one remains who commands the right or forbids the wrong. After that you will supplicate to Allah, but He will not answer you and will abhor you.”
