116 – Hamzah narrated to me; he said: ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said: Ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us; he said: ʿAbd al-Malik ibn Husayn narrated to us; he said: ʿAli ibn al-Aqmar, on the authority of ʿAmr ibn Abi Jundub, on the authority of ʿAbd Allah ibn Masʿud, said:
“Strive against the hypocrites with your hands; if you are unable, then with your tongues; and if you can do nothing more than scowl at them, then scowl.”
١١٦ - حَدَّثَنِي حَمْزَةُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْأَقْمَرِ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي جُنْدُبٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ: «جَاهِدُوا الْمُنَافِقِينَ بِأَيْدِيكُمْ، فَإِنْ لَمْ تَسْتَطِيعُوا فَبِأَلْسِنَتِكُمْ، فَإِنْ لَمْ تَسْتَطِيعُوا إِلَّا أَنْ تَكْفَهِرُّوا فِي وُجُوهِهِمْ فَاكْفَهِرُّوا»
