100 – Yaʿqūb ibn ʿUbayd related to me; he said: ʿUbayd Allah ibn Mūsā informed us; he said: al-Aʿmash related to us, from Shimr, from an elder of Rayy, who said: “I was an overseer in the time of ʿAlī—may Allah be pleased with him. He issued a directive to us and then asked, ‘Have you carried out what I commanded you?’ We replied, ‘No.’ He said, ‘By Allah, the Jews and the Christians will surely be set over you, and they will trample on your necks.’”}
