55 – Ishaq b. Ismaʿil and ʿAmr b. Muhammad narrated to us; they said: Sufyan narrated to us, from ʿAmr b. Dinar, from Tawus, who said:

Satan met Jesus, the son of Mary, and said, “O son of Mary, if you are really truthful, then climb this towering cliff and throw yourself from it!” Jesus answered, “Woe to you! Did Allah not say: ‘O child of Adam, do not test Me by bringing about your own destruction, for I do whatever I will’?”
