48 – Hashim ibn Qasim related to me, from Ibrahim ibn al-Ashʿath, from Fudayl ibn ʿIyad, who said: Some of our elders told us:

Iblis once came to Moses while the prophet was engaged in intimate discourse with his Lord. An angel confronted him, saying, “Woe to you! What can you possibly expect from him when he is in this state, communing with his Lord?” Iblis answered, “I expect from him the very same thing I expected from his father Adam while he was still in Paradise.”
