32 – It is related from ʿAlī ibn Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm: Abū Ṣāliḥ narrated to us; Muʿāwiyah ibn Ṣāliḥ informed me that al-ʿAlāʾ ibn al-Ḥārith reported from Ibn Shihāb, who said:
‘Iblis is the father of the jinn, just as Adam is the father of humankind. Adam is one of the humans and their forefather, and Iblis is one of the jinn and their forefather.’
٣٢ - عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرِاهِيمَ: حَدَّثَنَا ابو صالح، حدثني مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ أَنَّ الْعَلاءَ بْنَ الْحَارِثِ حَدَّثَهُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ قَالَ:
: إِبْلِيسُ أَبُو الْجِنِّ، كَمَا أَنَّ آدَمَ أَبُو الإِنْسِ، وَآدَمُ مِنَ الإِنْسِ، وَهُوَ أَبُوهُمْ، وَإِبْلِيسُ مِنَ الْجِنِّ وهو أبوهم.
