And the sin of the legally accountable servant lies in his forsaking what the Lord has commanded, even though it occurs by His will.

For the Creator-God spoke the truth when He said, “Surely My servants(1) are bound for Hellfire and for Paradise(2).”
(1) In ʿUqud and Majmuʿ al-Fatawa the wording is “that the servants …,” whereas manuscript A reads “that the creatures ….”
(2) Manuscript H has: “in bliss and Paradise.”
١٠٨- ومعصيةُ العبدِ المكلفِ تركُه ... لما أمر المولى وإن بمشيئةِ
١٠٩- فإن إله الخلقِ حقَّ مقالُه ... بأن عبادي (١) في جحيم وجنةِ (٢)
(١) في عقود ومجموع الفتاوى: «بأن العباد. . .» وفي أ: بأن البرايا.
(٢) في هـ: في نعيم وجنة.
