The ninth volume of The Comprehensive Exposition of the Interpretation of the Quran, authored by Shaykh and Imam Abū Jafar Muhammad ibn Jarīr al-Tabarī (may Allah have mercy on him).
It contains, from His words—Exalted be He—in Surat al-Mā’ida:
“so that he may taste the evil consequences of his deed”
[al-Mā’ida: 95]
through His words in Surat al-Anām:
“And among the livestock are beasts of burden and those too small to bear burdens.”
[al-Anām: 142]
The endowment formula is written beneath it.
The beginning of the part reads:
In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful. O Lord, make it easy.
Continuation of the commentary on:
“or its equivalent in fasting.”

Its closing reads:
The ninth part was completed by the praise and aid of Allah, through His gracious granting of success and His favor. May Allah bless our master Muhammad, his family and Companions, and grant them abundant peace. It is followed in the tenth part, Allah Most High willing, by:
The discussion concerning the interpretation of His words:
“And among the livestock are beasts of burden and those too small to bear burdens.”

Its transcription was completed in Jumādā al-Ūlā in the year 715 AH. May Allah make part of it, and its conclusion, pass in sound well-being. Allah is the One whose aid is sought in completing the entire book, Allah Most High willing.
May Allah forgive its author, its owner, its copyist, and whoever reads it and prays that they be granted forgiveness, Allah’s pleasure, and Paradise—and may He forgive all Muslims. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
