al-Bayān on the Interpretation of the Verses of the Quran, composed by Abū Jaʿfar Muhammad ibn Jarīr al-Tabarī (may Allah have mercy on him). May Allah reward him, on behalf of those who seek knowledge after him, with the finest reward He grants anyone who institutes a good practice or guides others to a noble deed. May Allah bless our master Muhammad, the Chosen One, and his good and virtuous family.
The copying of this blessed book was completed on the seventeenth day of the sacred month of Muharram, at the beginning of 1140 AH after the Prophetic Hijra—upon its initiator be the finest blessings and peace. May Allah send blessings upon him and upon his family and Companions, and grant them abundant peace. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds. End.”

The humblest servant, Mustafa al-Ātif …
May Allah Most High suffice him on the Day when none shows compassion.
Beneath it is a seal bearing the inscription:
“Hājj Mustafa Ātif endowed this book on condition that it not be removed from his collection. 1156.”
