This copy comprises three volumes. The first folio of each bears the following endowment inscription:
“Our supreme Sultan and exalted Khāqān, Sovereign of the Two Lands and the Two Seas, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Sultan son of Sultan, Sultan Ghāzī Mahmūd Khān, has endowed this noble copy as a valid endowment in accordance with Islamic law for the use of whoever consults it … May Allah Most High honor him … and grant the finest reward. Written by the humble Ahmad Shaykhzāda, Inspector of the Endowments of the Two Holy Mosques—may He forgive them both.”
Beneath it is the endower’s seal.
Above it is another seal bearing the words:
“In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful. All praise is due to Allah, who has guided us to this; we would never have been guided had Allah not guided us.”
