Those who affirm divine decree said:
“Whatever He wills comes to pass, and whatever He does not will does not come to pass. He has therefore willed disbelief, wickedness, and disobedience, though He has not willed them as religion. Or, He has willed them from the disbeliever but not from the believer. Accordingly, He loves disbelief, wickedness, and disobedience, though He does not love them as religion; He loves them from the disbeliever but not from the believer.”
Both positions are erroneous and contrary to the Quran, the sunnah, and the consensus of the early generations of the Muslim community and its leading scholars. They unanimously agree that whatever Allah wills comes to pass, whatever He does not will does not come to pass, and nothing occurs except by His will. They also unanimously agree that He does not love corruption, does not approve disbelief for His servants, and that the disbelievers secretly devise words with which He is not pleased. Those who denied His attribute of love based their denial on this corrupt principle.
