This, then, is one of the ways by which Allah makes clear the possibility of resurrection.
At other times He argues by citing the first creation, stating that restoring life is easier than originating it, as in His words:
“O people, if you are in doubt about the Resurrection, remember that We created you from dust, then from a drop of fluid, then from a clinging clot, then from a lump of flesh—formed and unformed—so that We might make the matter clear to you.” (Q 22:5)
He likewise says:
“He strikes for Us a comparison and forgets his own creation. He says, ‘Who will give life to bones when they are crumbled?’ Say: He who produced them the first time will give them life again, for He has full knowledge of every created thing.” (Q 36:78–79)
And:
“They say, ‘When we have become bones and decayed fragments, shall we really be raised again as a new creation?’ Say: Even if you were stones or iron, or any other created thing you deem even harder, they will still say, ‘Who will bring us back?’ Say: The One who originated you the first time.” (Q 17:49–51)
He also states:
“He is the One who begins creation and then repeats it, and that is even easier for Him.” (Q 30:27)
At yet other times He proves it by pointing to the creation of the heavens and the earth, for their creation is far greater than the re-creation of human beings, as He says:
“They say, ‘When we have become bones and decayed fragments, shall we really be raised again as a new creation?’ Have they not seen that Allah, who created the heavens and the earth, is able to create the likes of them? He has appointed for them a term about which there is no doubt.” (Q 17:99)
Likewise:
“Is not He who created the heavens and the earth able to create the like of them? Yes indeed, for He is the All-Creating, the All-Knowing.” (Q 36:81)
And:
“Have they not seen that Allah, who created the heavens and the earth and was not wearied by creating them, is able to give life to the dead? Yes indeed; He is powerful over all things.” (Q 46:33)
At still other times, He argues for it by referring to the revival of vegetation, as in His words:
“He is the One who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy. When they carry heavy clouds, We drive them to a dead land…”
