[Clarification of What the Jahmiyyah Rejected Concerning Allah’s Being upon the Throne]

So we said to them, “Why do you deny that Allah is upon the Throne, when He, the Exalted, has said:

‘The Most Merciful rose over the Throne’ (Sūrah Ṭā Hā 20:5),

and He also said:

‘He created the heavens and the earth in six days; then He rose over the Throne’ (Sūrah al-Ḥadīd 57:4)?”
