The Third Misconception: Weak ḥadiths on tawassul (seeking a means of approach)

The innovators who allow tawassul cite a large number of reports. On close examination, these fall into two distinct categories. The first consists of narrations that are indeed soundly traced back to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, yet they offer no support for the meaning they claim, nor do they back their viewpoint—such as the ḥadith of the blind man, which we have already discussed.
