the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger. This is exactly what our Prophet Muhammad—may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him—counseled us when he said: “I have left among you two matters; you will never go astray as long as you hold fast to them: the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger.” 1
(1) Malik transmits the report in mursal form, and al-Hakim relates it through Ibn Abbas with an isnad judged hasan. It also has a supporting narration from Jabir, which I documented in Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah, no. 1716 (Maktabat al-Maarif, Riyadh).
كتاب الله وسنة رسوله ﷺ وهذا هو الذي وصانا به رسولنا محمد صلوات الله عليه وسلامه حيث قال: "تركت فيكم أمرين لن تضلوا ما تمسكتم بهما: كتاب الله وسنة رسوله" ١.
