He said, “Then, at that moment, Gog and Magog will burst forth—‘they will surge down from every rise’ (Q 21:96). They will trample across the land, leaving nothing without destroying it, and they will not pass by any water without drinking it dry. The people will return to me and complain about them, so I will supplicate to Allah against them, and Allah will annihilate them, causing them all to die, until the earth becomes hollow (1) from the stench of their corpses.
Then Allah will send down rain that will sweep their bodies away and cast them into the sea. After that, the mountains will be pulverized and the earth will be stretched out flat like a tanned hide.
Among the things my Lord has entrusted to me is that, when all of this takes place, the Hour will be like a woman in full term—her family have no idea when labor will suddenly overtake them, whether by night or by day!”
It was recorded by Aḥmad (1/375), Ibn Mājah (4081), al-Ḥākim (4/488–489; 545) and others. Al-Ḥākim declared its chain sound, and al-Dhahabī concurred.
Nevertheless, it warrants scrutiny, which I have explained in al-Ḍaʿīfah 4318.
