Seventh report: It is related through Abthar b. al-Qāsim, from Ḥuṣayn—meaning Ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān—from Saʿīd b. Jubayr, from Ibn ʿAbbās, who said:
When the Prophet ﷺ was taken on the Night Journey, he passed by a prophet—or prophets—accompanied by an entire nation; then by a prophet—or prophets—with only a handful of followers; and by a prophet—or prophets—with not a single follower. He then came upon an immense host, so I asked, “Who are these?” It was said, “Moses and his people—but raise your head and look.” I looked and beheld a multitude so vast that it filled the horizon to the right and to the left. It was said, “These are your community, and in addition to them there are seventy thousand from your community who will enter Paradise without reckoning.”
The Prophet ﷺ withdrew; they neither asked him about it nor did he explain it to them. Some said, “We must be those people,” while others said, “They are the children born upon the innate disposition of Islam.”
The Prophet ﷺ then came out and said, “They are those who neither cauterize themselves, nor ask others for ruqya (healing incantations), nor take omens; rather, they place their trust in their Lord.” ʿUkāsha b. Miḥṣan stood up and asked, “Am I among them, O Messenger of Allah?” He replied, “Yes.”
