Ibn ʿAbbās said: The Prophet ﷺ was taken by night to Jerusalem, and on that same night he returned and informed the people of his journey, describing the features of the Sanctuary and even their caravan. Some of them cried out, “Are we to believe Muhammad in what he says?!” They apostatised and became unbelievers; God struck their necks down together with Abū Jahl. Abū Jahl scoffed, “Muhammad threatens us with the Tree of Zaqqūm—bring us dates and clarified butter and let us eat them as ‘zaqqūm’!”
The Prophet ﷺ also saw the Antichrist in his very form—an awake, outward vision, not a dream—and he saw Jesus, Moses, and Abraham, peace be upon them all. He was asked about the Antichrist and replied, “He is Filmāniyā 1, fair-skinned and exceedingly bright 2; one of his eyes juts out as though it were a radiant star, and the hair on his head is like the branches of a tree…”
