- The ḥadith of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Qarṭ
It is transmitted by Miskīn ibn Maymūn, who said: “ʿUrwah ibn Ruwaym narrated to me from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Qarṭ that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, ‘I was taken on the Night Journey from the Sacred Mosque.’
Between the Maqām and Zamzam Gabriel stood to my right and Michael to my left, and the two of them ascended until we reached the highest heavens. When I returned I said, ‘I heard a voice from the highest heavens accompanied by tasbīḥ and takbīr: “Glory be to the Lord of the highest heavens, the Majestic.”’”
Al-Dhahabī cited it in al-Mīzān with his chain to Saʿīd ibn Manṣūr, who said, “Miskīn narrated it to us,” and he remarked, “I do not know him, and the report is munkar (unacceptable).”
He then reproduced the narration and added, “Abū Nuʿaym recorded it in ʿAwālī Saʿīd and declared it ṣaḥīḥ (sound).”
Al-Haythamī ⦗1/78⦘ attributed it to al-Ṭabarānī in al-Kabīr and al-Awsaṭ, but deemed it defective on account of Miskīn, citing al-Dhahabī’s judgment of him.
