“I entered Paradise, and there before me was a river whose banks were lined with tents made of pearl. I dipped my hand into the water flowing through it, and it was the fragrance of the finest musk. I asked, ‘What is this, O Gabriel?’ He replied, ‘This is al-Kawthar which Allah has granted you.’”
Aḥmad also brought it—3/115–116 and 263—through two other routes from Ḥumayd with the same content.
Fifth: al-Zuhrī related, “Anas ibn Mālik informed me, saying: ‘On the night the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was carried on the Night Journey, fifty prayers were made obligatory upon him; they were then reduced until they became five. A caller proclaimed, “O Muḥammad! My word is not altered with Me, and for these five you shall have the reward of fifty.”’”
Aḥmad recorded it, 3/161; its chain is sound according to the criteria of the Two Shaykhs.
Sixth: From Sulaymān al-Taymī, from Anas ibn Mālik [from one of the Companions of the Prophet], who said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “On the night I was taken on the Night Journey I passed by Moses, and I found him standing in prayer inside his grave.”
Aḥmad recorded it, 3/120; Muslim, 2375; and al-Nasāʾī in Qiyām al-Layl—who also gives an additional wording—as do Aḥmad, 5/59 and 362.
