Third report: It is related from Yazid ibn Abi Malik, who said: Anas ibn Malik narrated to us that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“I was brought a mount larger than a donkey yet smaller than a mule; each stride of it reached as far as its eye could see. I mounted it while Gabriel was with me.
We set out, and he said, ‘Dismount and pray.’ I did so. Then he asked, ‘Do you know where you have prayed? You have prayed in Taybah (Medina), the place to which migration will be made.’
He then said, ‘Dismount and pray.’ I prayed, and he asked, ‘Do you know where you have prayed? You have prayed at Mount Sinai, where Allah spoke to Moses.’
Again he said, ‘Dismount and pray.’ I dismounted and prayed, and he asked, ‘Do you know where you have prayed? You have prayed in Bethlehem, where Jesus was born.’
After that we entered Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem), where the prophets were gathered for me. Gabriel brought me forward until I led them all in prayer.
Then he carried me up to the lowest heaven….” (Anas said:) “He went on to mention the seven heavens and the prophets found in each of them, and then said: ‘He raised me above the seven heavens until we reached the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary.’”
