do you know of any who is His equal?’ 1, and His saying: ‘To Allah belong the Most Beautiful Names, so call upon Him by them’ 2; and His report about His close friend Abraham—peace be upon him—that he said to his father, ‘My father, why do you worship something that neither hears nor sees and can do nothing for you?’ 3; and His saying, ‘If you call upon them, they do not hear your supplication’ 4; and His saying, ‘And the people of Moses, after he left, made from their ornaments a calf—an inert body that lowed.
