from the unbelievers, and this is nothing more than purchasing from them for an agreed price; they therefore hold no favor or obligation over us, nor is it a cause for loving them or taking them as allies. Allah has made it obligatory to love and be loyal to the believers, and to hate and oppose the disbelievers.
Allah the Exalted says: “Indeed, those who believed, emigrated, and strove with their wealth and their lives in the cause of Allah, and those who gave them refuge and support—they are allies of one another… And those who disbelieve are allies of one another. If you do not do likewise, there will be turmoil in the land and great corruption.” ⦗1⦘
Al-Hafiz Ibn Kathir said: “The meaning of His words, ‘If you do not do likewise, there will be turmoil in the land and great corruption,’ is that if you do not keep your distance from the polytheists and ally yourselves with the believers, confusion will arise among the people, matters will become mixed up, and believers will mingle with disbelievers, leading to widespread, extensive corruption among humankind.” End quote.
I say: This is precisely what has come to pass in our own time. Allah’s help is sought.
