She said, “I dismissed her words and was reluctant to believe her. Then she left, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered. I said, ‘O Messenger of Allah! An elderly Jewish woman from among the Jews of Medina has just been here and claimed that the people of the graves are being punished in their graves.’ He replied, ‘She has spoken the truth; they are indeed being punished with a torment that every animal can hear.’ She added, ‘After that, I never saw him perform a prayer without seeking refuge from the punishment of the grave.’”
