Death
Among the preliminaries to the Last Day is death, which is the minor resurrection (al-qiyāma al-ṣughrá).

The minor resurrection is the passing of every individual at the expiry of his allotted term, through which he moves from this world to the Hereafter.

God has reminded His servants of death so that they might prepare for it with righteous deeds and repentance from evil deeds, for once it arrives a person’s record is sealed and no delay will be granted. The Exalted says:

“O you who believe, let neither your wealth nor your children distract you from the remembrance of God. Whoever does so—such people are the losers. Spend out of what We have provided you before death comes to one of you and he says, ‘My Lord, if only You would grant me a little respite, I would give in charity and be among…’”
