In any case, the matter is grave, and we remain heedless even though many of these portents have already appeared. We therefore ask Allah to keep us firm upon His religion, to cause us to die in a state of Islam, and to protect us from the evil of trials, both open and hidden.

These reports are among the proofs of prophethood and the miracles of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He foretold future events that Allah had disclosed to him from His knowledge, and they unfolded exactly as he said. This fulfillment strengthens a believer’s faith.

His informing us of these signs is a mercy to the servants, that they may take warning, prepare themselves, and act with clear insight. So may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon this noble Prophet, who delivered the message with manifest clarity and explained it in the fullest detail; we bear witness to that.

The first of these major signs will be the appearance of the Mahdī, followed by the emergence of the Antichrist, then the descent of Jesus (peace be upon him); after that the remaining signs will arrive in swift succession.
