The Religion of the Prophets—peace be upon them—is One
Indeed, the religion of all the Prophets, peace be upon them, is a single religion, even though their individual laws varied. Allah, exalted is He, says: “He has laid down for you, in matters of faith, what He enjoined upon Noah, and that which We have revealed to you, and what We enjoined upon Abraham, Moses, and Jesus: Establish the religion and do not divide regarding it.” 1
He also says: “O Messengers, eat of what is wholesome and act righteously; I am fully aware of what you do. Truly, this community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord, so fear Me.” 2
The Prophet ﷺ said, “We, the company of prophets, share one religion, and the prophets are half-brothers through their mothers.”
That common religion is Islam, the only religion Allah accepts. It is to surrender to Allah through tawḥīd (monotheism), to submit to Him in obedience, and to disavow shirk (idolatry) and its people.
Concerning Noah, He said: “I have been commanded to be among the Muslims.” 3
And about Abraham: “When his Lord said to him, ‘Submit,’ he said, ‘I have submitted to the Lord of all the worlds.’” 4
