by deed. This is the view of al-Shāfiʿī and most of his disciples, and it is the well-known position in the Hanbalī school.1
Al-ʿIrāqī said, “I have not found that any of the three imams regarded a sunnah prayer before it as recommended.”2
As for the report recorded by Ibn Mājah (1/347) on the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās, he said: “The Prophet ﷺ would pray four rakʿahs before the Friday Prayer, without separating any of them.”

Therefore I say: those who perform this sunnah have followed neither the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, nor the imams; instead they have imitated later scholars who, like themselves, are mere followers and not mujtahids. How astonishing that a muqallid should imitate another muqallid!
بفعله وهذا مذهب الشافعي وأكثر أصحابه وهو المشهور في مذهب أحمد"١
وقال العراقي:
"ولم أر للأئمة الثلاثة نذب سنة قبلها"٢.
وأما الحديث الذي أخرجه ابن ماجه "١/٣٤٧"
عن ابن عباس قال:
"كان النبي ﷺ يركع قبل الجمعة أربعا لا يفصل في شيء منهن".

إن الذين يصلون هذه السنة لا الرسول ﷺ اتبعوا ولا الأئمة قلدوا بل قلدوا المتأخرين الذين هم مثلهم في كونهم مقلدين غير مجتهدين فاعجب لمقلد يقلد مقلدا!!!
