and I have put some aside for you.” He said, “Bring it here, for I began the morning fasting.” He then ate from it and added:
“The voluntary fast is like a man who gives charity from his own wealth: if he wishes, he may let it proceed, and if he wishes, he may withhold it.” 1

فخبأت لك منه. قال: "أدنيه أما إني قد أصبحت وأنا صائم". فأكل منه ثم قال:
"إنما مثل صوم المتطوع مثل الرجل يخرج من ماله الصدقة فإن شاء أمضاها وإن شاء حبسها" ١.
