18 – Permissibility of Withdrawal (ʿazl)
It is lawful for a man to withdraw his semen from her, and this is established by several hadiths:
First: Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “We used to practise withdrawal1 while the Quran was still being revealed.” In another wording: “We practised withdrawal during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ; the matter reached the Prophet of Allah ﷺ and he did not forbid us.”2
Second: Abu Saʿid al-Khudri reported: “A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, ‘I have a slave girl3 and I practise withdrawal with her; I want what any man wants, yet…’

١٨- جواز العزل:
ويجوز له أن يعزل عنها ماءه وفيه أحاديث:
الأول: عن جابر ﵁ قال:
"كنا نعزل١ والقرآن ينزل" وفي رواية:
"كنا نعزل على عهد رسول الله ﷺ فبلغ ذلك نبي الله ﷺ فلم ينهنا"٢.
الثاني: عن أبي سعيد الخدري قال:
"جاء رجل إلى رسول الله ﷺ فقال: إن لي وليدة٣ وأنا أعزل عنها وأنا أريد ما يريد الرجل وإن
