2 – Placing the hand on the wife’s head and supplicating for her:

The husband should place his hand on the front of her head when he first enters upon her—or even beforehand—pronounce the name of Allah, invoke blessing, and recite the words taught by the Prophet ﷺ: “When any one of you marries a woman or purchases a servant, let him take hold of her forelock [let him take hold of her forelock] 2 [and pronounce the name of Allah] [and ask for blessing], and let him say:”
