Sixth: “If a woman performs her five daily prayers, safeguards her chastity, and obeys her husband, she may enter Paradise through whichever of its gates she wishes.” 1
The wife’s obligation to serve her husband
I say: Some of the previously cited traditions plainly show that a wife is required to obey her husband and to serve him to the extent of her ability. Beyond all doubt, the foremost aspect of this service is her work inside the home and whatever is connected to it, such as raising his children and the like. On this matter the scholars have differed; Shaykh
al-Bayhaqi, 7/291; al-Wahidi, al-Wasit, 1/161/2; and Ibn Asakir, 16/31/1. Its chain is sahih, as al-Hakim ruled and al-Dhahabi confirmed. Al-Mundhiri (3/74) remarks: “Ahmad and al-Nasai also transmitted it through two reliable isnads.”
(1) A hasan—indeed sahih—hadith supported by several routes: al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Awsat, 169/2 (in the rearranged edition); Ibn Hibban included it in his Sahih on the authority of Abu Hurayra, as cited in al-Targhib, 3/73; Ahmad (no. 1661) narrated it from Abd al-Rahman b. Awf; while Abu Nuaym, 6/308, and al-Jurjani, 291, related it from Anas b. Malik.
السادس: "إذا صلت المرأة خمسها وحصنت فرجها وأطاعت بعلها دخلت من أي أبواب الجنة شاءت" ١.
وجوب خدمة المرأة لزوجها:
قلت: وبعض الأحاديث المذكورة آنفا ظاهرة الدلالة على وجوب طاعة الزوجة لزوجها وخدمتها إياه في حدود استطاعتها ومما لا شك فيها أن من أول ما يدخل في ذلك الخدمة في منزله وما يتعلق به من تربية أولاده ونحو ذلك وقد اختلف العلماء في هذا فقال شيخ
البيهقي ٧/٢٩١ والواحدي في الوسيط ١/١٦١/٢ وابن عساكر ١٦/٣١/١ وإسناده صحيح كما قال الحاكم ووافقه الذهبي وقال المنذري ٣/٧٤:
"رواه أحمد والنسائي بإسنادين جيدين".
