Fifth: It is narrated from Ḥuṣayn ibn Miḥṣan, who said: My aunt told me, “I once went to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, for a certain need. He asked, ‘Woman, do you have a husband?’ I replied, ‘Yes.’ He said, ‘How are you toward him?’ She answered, ‘I fall short in nothing1 except what lies beyond my ability.’ He said, ‘[Then look] to your position with respect to him, for he is your Paradise and your Hellfire.’2
and in the abridged version of Ibn Hibban’s Sahih, 1/119/2; Abu al-Abbas al-Asam relates it in two sessions of his Amali, 3/1; and Abu Abd Allah al-Qattan records it in his transmission from al-Hasan b. Arafah, 145/1. All of them cite the chain: Ismail b. Ayyash → Buheir b. Saʿd al-Kalaʿi → Khalid b. ʿImdan → Kathir b. Murrah al-Hadrami → Muʿadh b. Jabal, with a marfu attribution. Abu al-Hasan al-Tusi comments: “This is a gharib, hasan hadith; we know it only through this route, and Ismail’s transmissions from the Syrians are reliable.” I add: this report is one of those to which he refers.

الخامس: عن حصين بن محصن قال: حدثتني عمتي قالت:
"أتيت رسول الله ﷺ في بعض الحاجة فقال: "أي هذه أذات بعل؟ " قلت: نعم قال: "كيف أنت له؟ " قالت: ما آلوه١: إلا ما عجزت عنه قال: " [فانظري] أين أنت منه؟ فإنما هو جنتك ونارك" ٢.
في مختصره ١/١١٩/٢ وأبو العباس الأصم في مجلسين من الأمالي ٣/١ وأبو عبد الله القطان في حديثه عن الحسن بن عرفة ١٤٥/١ كلهم عن إسماعيل بن عياش عن بحير بن سعد الكلاعي عن خالد بن عمدان عن كثير بن مرة الحضرمي عن معاذ بن جبل مرفوعا. وقال الطوسي:
"هذا حديث غريب حسن لا نعرفه إلا من هذا الوجه ورواية إسماعيل عن الشاميين صالحة".
قلت: ويعني أن هذه منها.
