Eighth: ʿĀʾishah also related:
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would be handed a vessel; I would drink from it while menstruating, and then he would take it and place his mouth on the very spot where mine had been. I would likewise pick up a meaty bone, eat from it, and he would take it and put his mouth on the same place I had eaten from.”1
Ninth: Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allah and Jābir ibn ʿUmayr reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Every activity in which the remembrance of Allah is absent is nothing but idle talk, heedlessness, and play—except for four things: a man’s playful interaction with his wife, a man’s training of his horse, his walking between the two targets,2 and a man’s learning to swim.”3

(2) The term is the dual of gharad, i.e., “target.”
(3) Reported by al-Nasai, ‘Ashrat al-Nisa’, 74/2.
