Adab al-Zifaf fi al-Sunnah al-MutahharahNasir al-Din al-Albani

Thus, it is a flagrant breach of sound texts that prohibit the gold ring for men—and, as you will soon learn, for women as well. Below are some of those texts:

First: “The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade the gold ring.” 1.

Second: Ibn ʿAbbās reports that the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—saw a gold ring on a man’s hand; he removed it, cast it away, and said:

A literal rendering of the closing clause is: “And when he says ‘Amen,’ he finally places it on the ring finger, where it remains.” This wording and its translation were reproduced by the respected writer Malik Hanano—may Allah reward her. (1) Reported by al-Bukhari, 10/259; Muslim, 6/135; and Ahmad, 4/287, on the authority of al-Baraʾ ibn ʿAzib; and by al-Bukhari, 10/260; Muslim, 6/149; al-Nasai, 2/288; Ahmad, 2/468; and Ibn Saʿd, 1/2/161, on the authority of Abu Hurayra. Parallel narrations also exist from Ali, ʿImran, and others.
