their daubing of their fingernails with the red gum now known as “manicure,” and allowing some of them to grow long—even certain young men have begun to do the same. This practice, besides constituting an alteration of Allah’s creation that brings a curse upon its perpetrator, as you have already seen, and besides being an act of imitation of the unbelievers that many prophetic reports forbid(1)—among them his ﷺ saying, “…and whoever imitates a people is counted among them”(2)—is also contrary to the fitrah (innate disposition): “the natural pattern of Allah upon which He created mankind.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “The fitrah(3) consists of five things: circumcision and istihdad(4) (shaving the pubic hair),”

تدميمهن لأظفارهن بالصمغ الأحمر المعروف اليوم بـ مينيكور وإطالتهن لبعضها - وقد يفعلها بعض الشباب أيضا - فإن هذا مع ما فيه من تغير لخلق الله المستلزم لعن فاعله كما علمت آنفا ومن التشبه بالكافرات المنهي عنه في أحاديث كثيرة١ التي منها قوله ﷺ: " ... ومن تشبه بقوم فهو منهم" ٢ فإنه أيضا مخالف للفطرة ﴿فِطْرَتَ اللَّهِ الَّتِي فَطَرَ النَّاسَ عَلَيْهَا﴾ وقد قال ﷺ:
