Another version states:
He ﷺ said, “Did you send with her a young girl to beat the duff and sing?” I asked, “What should she sing?” He replied:
We have come to you, we have come—
So greet us and we will greet you.
Had it not been for the red gold,
We would never have camped in your valley.
Had it not been for the dark wheat,
Your maidens would never have grown plump.⦗1⦘
- ʿĀʾishah also reported that the Prophet ﷺ heard some people singing at a wedding, chanting:
A ram has been presented to her—
Bleating away in the stall;
Your beloved is in the gathering,
And he knows what tomorrow holds.
In another version:
(1) Al-Tabarani transmits it, as quoted in Majmaʿ al-Zawaʾid 1/167/1; Ibn Hajar cites it in Fath al-Bari without ruling on it, and its chain is weak. I later found a second isnad from ʿAʾisha that reinforces the report, as explained in Irwaʾ al-Ghalil, no. 1995. Another narration on the same topic from ʿAʾisha appears in the Musnad 6/269; all its transmitters are reliable except Ishaq b. Sahl b. Abi Hantama, whom Ibn Abi Hatim lists in al-Jarh wa-l-Taʿdil without assessing him.
وفي رواية بلفظ:
"فقال: فهل بعثتم معها جارية تضرب بالدف وتغني؟ " قلت: ماذا تقول؟ قال: تقول:
أتيناكم أتيناكم ... فحيونا نحييكم
لولا الذهب الأحم ... ر ما حلت بواديكم
لولا الحنطة السمرا ... ء ما سمنت عذاريكم"١
الثالث: عنها أيضا:
أن النبي ﷺ سمع ناسا يغنون في عرس وهم يقولون:
وأهدي لها أكبش ... يبحبحن في المربد
وحبك في النادي ... ويعلم ما في غد
وفي رواية:
١ رواه الطبراني كما في "زوائده" ١/١٦٧/١ وسكت عليه في "الفتح" وفيه ضعف!
ثم وجدت له طريقا أخرى عن عائشة يتقوى بها كما بينته في "الإرواء "١٩٩٥.
وفي الباب عن عائشة أيضا في "المسند" ٦/٢٦٩ ورجاله ثقات غير إسحاق بن سهل بن أبي حنتمة أورده في "الجرح" ولم يذكر فيه شيئا.
