“May Allah bless you, and may He shower His blessings upon you, and may He unite you both in goodness. In another narration: ‘upon goodness.’” 1
(1) Reported by Saʿid ibn Mansur, Sunan, p. 522; Abu Dawud, 1:332, and al-Tirmidhi, 2:171—both of whom declared it sahih; Abu ʿAli al-Tusi, al-Mukhtasar, 1:110; al-Darimi, 2:134; Ibn Majah, 1:289; Ahmad, 2:38; al-Hakim, 2:183; al-Bayhaqi, 7:148; and al-Khattabi, Gharib al-Hadith, 1:60–61. Al-Hakim judged the hadith “sahih according to Muslim’s criteria,” a verdict endorsed by al-Dhahabi. Al-Hafiz ʿAbd al-Haqq al-Azdi likewise classified it as sound in al-Ahkam al-Kubra, 2:142. The alternate wording cited is Ahmad’s version.
