Chapter: The Minimum That Suffices in the Acts of Prayer

The least that fulfils the prayer’s requirements is as follows: the opening takbīr (takbīrat al-iḥrām) together with the specific intention for that prayer; the recitation of Sūrat al-Fātiḥah after the takbīr; bowing until one is completely settled in the bow; rising until fully upright; prostrating until settled in prostration; sitting until settled in the sitting position; then performing a second prostration in the same manner. He completes his entire prayer on this pattern and concludes with a single salām.
