Chapter: A number of invalid sales and the rulings that pertain to them
Everything set forth earlier in this book—from its very beginning, across the chapters on ṣarf (currency exchange), the sections on ribā (usury), and every item whose sale, contractual engagement, or employment in a transaction is impermissible—belongs to the category of invalid sales. The same applies to every transaction that the transmitted reports explicitly forbid. Each of these dealings nevertheless carries its own legal consequences, which we shall present at the end of this book, together with the various rulings that Mālik formulated regarding them, Allah willing.
Among the sales deemed invalid by Mālik and his companions is any sale concluded after the adhān (call to the Friday prayer).
