Chapter: Concerning the pilgrim who misses Hajj because he is prevented by illness, by an enemy, or by miscalculating the days of the Ten
If a pilgrim is held back by illness, he is not released from his state of iḥrām until he has circumambulated the House, walked between Ṣafā and Marwah, and shaved his head—even if that means remaining in iḥrām for years. When he finally reaches the Kaʿbah after Hajj has lapsed, he performs the rites of ʿUmrah and ends the talbiyah upon entering the Sanctuary.
