Chapter on the Fast-Breaking Charity (zakat al-Fitr)

Zakat al-Fitr is incumbent upon every Muslim—free or enslaved, young or old, male or female. In the case of a slave, the obligation is fulfilled by his master; for a minor, it is fulfilled by the person who is legally bound to support him or by the guardian of his property.
