and over whom he had carried out the legal penalty; and with regard to the man who had misappropriated the spoils he said, “Pray over your companion.” Scholars and people of virtue do not lead the prayer for the proponents of innovation or for those who commit major sins and are notorious for them; instead, other Muslims may perform the prayer for them.
