if one of them were to die during her waiting period. A second report from him states that the husband should not wash her, and that view is more pleasing to me.
There is no harm in a man washing his female slave, and a concubine who has borne him a child (umm walad) may wash her master. If, in an emergency, a man or a woman must wash a close relative with whom marriage is permanently forbidden (mahram), each should wash his or her mahram from behind a cloth without looking at the private parts.
A man may wash a little girl of three or four years old, and a woman may wash a boy of the same age. If a deceased woman has neither women nor a mahram man present, unrelated men perform tayammum for her, wiping only up to the wrists. Conversely, if a deceased man has no men present and no mahram woman available, unrelated women perform tayammum for him, wiping up to the elbows.
