Al-KāfīIbn Abd al-Barr

Ibn Ḥabīb adopted this opinion, adding, “According to ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAbd al-Ḥakam and Sahnūn, she must perform both prayers.”

Ibn ʿAbdūs related to ʿAlī ibn Ziyād, quoting Mālik, that when a Christian embraces Islam and there is still time in the night for four rakʿas, he is to pray Maghrib and ʿIshāʾ.

Sahnūn also said, “I know some of our colleagues who maintain that the last part of the period is assigned to the later of the two prayers, so nothing is required of him except ʿIshāʾ.”
