Chapter on the Inheritance of Brothers and Sisters

No brother or sister, whatever type of sibling they may be, inherits anything while the father is alive, nor in the presence of a son, nor of a grandson through a son, however remote. They do have a share when the surviving ascendant is the grandfather; the details of that will be set out in the chapter on the grandfather, God willing.

Brothers and sisters also inherit alongside the daughters, provided they are not uterine siblings. In that situation they become agnatic heirs for the daughters, and whatever remains after the daughters have taken their prescribed shares is divided among them, the male receiving twice the share of the female; the same rule applies to the sisters.
