16
If a man donates property to his own son, the son may benefit from it—eating its fruit, drinking its milk, or riding its mount—so long as this causes no harm to its offspring, does not wear out its hide, and does not damage anything else. The same concession does not apply to a non-relative.
It is permissible for a person, while in sound health, to give away all his wealth in avenues of righteousness and charity; nonetheless, leaving one’s heirs well provided for is preferable, God—Mighty and Majestic—willing.
