the side of Mount Ṭūr, drawing him close in confidential discourse.
19- I say: It was recorded by al-Bukhārī (13/328-329, Fatḥ), Muslim (8/62), and Aḥmad (2/251, 413, 480); al-Tirmidhī also declared it sound (4/290). In the Musnad there are three additional chains (2/354, 405, 482) from Abū Hurayrah with similar wording. Ibn Mundah likewise included it in al-Tawḥīd (f. 77/1) and later, on f. 100/1, narrated a supporting marfūʿ report from Anas.
28- From Asmāʾ bint Abī Bakr al-Ṣiddīq, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “On the night I was taken on the Night Journey I reached the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary,”—and she related the rest of the report. Its chain is acceptable.
20- I say: Al-Suyūṭī attributed it in al-Khaṣāʾiṣ al-Kubrā (1/438) to Ibn Mardawayh on her authority with similar wording. The ḥadīth has numerous corroborations in the two Ṣaḥīḥs and elsewhere from Anas and other Companions, all of which you will find in al-Khaṣāʾiṣ; consult them if you wish. I have traced Anas’s narration in my edition of Ibn Abī ʿĀṣim’s al-Sunnah (791).
29- Mujāhid reported: It was said to Ibn ʿAbbās, “Some people are speaking about predestination.” He replied, “They are denying the Book. If I were to seize one of them by his hair I would shake him violently¹. Allah was upon His Throne before He created anything; then He created the creation and wrote down all that will occur until the Day of Resurrection. People only act according to a matter that has already been decreed.”
21- I say: The author cited its chain in the original work, and it is authentic. It was recorded by al-Ājurri in al-Sharīʿah (p. 293), al-Lālakāʾī in al-Sunnah (1/91/2), and Ibn Qudāmah in al-ʿUluw (169/1).
30- ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿAmr reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The ties of kinship are suspended from the Throne. The one who merely reciprocates in equal measure² is not the real maintainer; rather, the real maintainer is the one who keeps ties with a relative who has cut him off.” Its chain is strong.

¹ I would give him a severe shake.
² I.e., who only keeps ties when the other side does so first.
