8- This is how it appears in the manuscript, whereas every printed edition reads: “Agreed upon.” That wording is open to objection, for the first version is not found in either of the two Ṣaḥīḥs. It is reported only by Aḥmad in the Musnad (2/533) with a good chain. He also transmits other routes (2/269, 315, 351) that contain wording close to the second version, and the report is cited in Takhrīj al-Sunnah by Ibn Abī ʿĀṣim (801, 802). Ibn al-Qayyim was more precise than the author in grading the ḥadīth; in Juyūshihi, p. 37, he wrote: “A sound ḥadīth, with its root text and corroboration found in the two Ṣaḥīḥs.”
11- Ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah as well: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Whoever gives in charity the equivalent of a single date from lawful earnings—and nothing ascends to Allah except what is lawful—Allah receives it with His right hand and nurtures it for its giver until it becomes like a mountain.” This is a sound ḥadīth recorded by al-Bukhārī.
12- Ḥadīth of Abū Mūsā al-Ashʿarī: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Allah does not sleep, nor is it befitting that He should sleep. He lowers the scale and raises it; the deeds of the night are presented to Him before those of the day, and the deeds of the day before those of the night. His veil is light—or fire; were He to remove it, the splendor of His Face would burn everything His sight reaches.” Recorded by the two Ṣaḥīḥs.
13- Ḥadīth of Ibn ʿUmar: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Beware of the supplication of the wronged, for it rises to Allah like blazing sparks.” An isolated (gharīb) report, yet its chain is good.
9- I add: al-Ḥākim and others also narrated it, as I have shown in al-Ṣaḥīḥah, no. 869.
14- Ḥadīth of Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Allah accepts a servant’s charity when it comes from lawful earnings; Allah accepts only what is lawful, and only what is good rises up to Him. He takes a single date and nurtures it until He makes it like a mountain.”
