until, when dawn breaks, the Lord ascends.” ʿAbd Allah, the son of Imām Aḥmad, recorded it in his own work al-Radd ʿalā al-Jahmiyyah.
100 – The report of Shurayḥ ibn ʿUbayd: he would say, “The bleating¹ of glorification has risen up to You, and the solemnity² of sanctification has ascended to You. Transcendent are You, Possessor of irresistible might; in Your hand lie dominion and sovereignty, the keys and the decrees.” Its chain is sound.
88 – Abū Shaykh transmitted it in al-ʿUẓmah (19/1), and Ibn al-Qayyim stated (p. 105) that its chain is sound.
101 – A report from Kaʿb: “Subḥān Allah, al-ḥamdu lillāh, lā ilāha illā Allah, and Allahu akbar have a humming around the Throne like the humming of bees; they remind [the angels] of the one who uttered them.”
102 – Kaʿb also said: “Indeed, wholesome speech produces around the Throne a humming like the humming of bees; it reminds [the angels] of its utterer.” Both reports are authentically established from Kaʿb al-Aḥbār.
89 – Abū Jaʿfar ibn Abī Shaybah recorded them in al-ʿArsh (fol. 162/2) with two sound chains.
103 – Abū Qilābah related: When Allah caused Adam to descend, He said, “O Adam, I am sending down with you a House around which people shall circumambulate as they circumambulate around My Throne, and at which they shall pray as they pray at My Throne.” It remained so until the Flood, when it was raised up. The prophets continued to perform pilgrimage to it; they would come but not know its exact location until Allah assigned it to Abraham, upon him be peace.
This report is firmly established from Abū Qilābah—and who rivals Abū Qilābah in virtue and stature? He even fled from Iraq to Syria to avoid being appointed judge.
104 – Ḥakīm ibn Jābir said: “I have been informed that your Lord—glorified is He—has touched with His Hand only three things: the Throne, Paradise…"
¹ The Arabic word literally denotes the bleating of sheep or goats.
² In Arabic, a gravitas or dignity that befits sacredness.
